Chadwick says “No Thanks” to Hard Rock Cafe benefit

Chadwick defies the spirit of Thanksgiving by declining to appear at the Hard Rock Cafe in December. The show had been scheduled for December 6th and was rumored to feature a certain heavy metal rockstar/guitarist from the east coast with the money earmarked to bail out struggling San Francisco music schools.

Says Chadwick, “No one told me the gig was a benefit. I simply won’t play the Hard Rock or anywhere else so I can give the money to some stupid school. I mean the Conservatory just opened up two new buildings over on Van Ness and they want my lunch money?”

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music was not one of the schools in the donation line. Scorning the Hard Rock is the latest in a long line of inexplicable actions taken by Chadwick at the end of the worst year, money-wise, for the band. A source close to the band says that the group may not survive the sluggish sales of their second CD, Blood Soaked World.

The Hard Rock Cafe will not have live music on the 6th but will keep the bar open.

Electric Funeral a No-Show for November

Lance Ozanix led a highly anticipated Black Sabbath tribute band onto the stage in July of 2006. Electric Funeral immediately drew interest due to the ensemble of experienced players handpicked to complete the group as well as Lance’s own notoriety. Many Ozanix fans were waiting for the Skitzo front man and sometime-Ozzy impersonator to start up a new project since the break up of both Lance fronted Sabbath tributes, Paranoid and the all-star Sabbath/Ozzy cover band: Sweet Leaf.

And now, after a slow start, and no appearances since October the 13th, Electric Funeral has officially closed the doors on November. The authorized party line: “Electric Funeral will accept no gig, nowhere, at no time during the month of November.”

Meanwhile, persistent rumors swirl about a Sweet Leaf reunion and seemingly conflicting rumors place Electric Funeral at a high profile gig in December. With Skitzo drawing more and more thrash metal fans into the fold it is unlikely that Lancifer could run all three bands simultaneously.
